I love learning about the people who made vintage copper.
I’m a history nerd. When I started buying vintage copper, the first thing I did was Google the words I saw stamped on them: “Gaillard,” “Dehillerin,” and so forth. I realized quickly that there was little to nothing out there on the history of these families and companies in the 19th century. I have done my best to do deep-dive research into primary sources in their original language in order to extract reliable information, and my hope is that sharing what I’ve found will help us all understand and appreciate these things.
And I’m also a bit of a goofball so there are some humorous posts mixed in, too.
I also have questions. So, so many questions.
